I am deeply inspired by experiences in nature. My emotional and psychological experience drives my need to paint. I sometimes paint on location but always take dozens of photos. Later in the studio I begin the painting using my visual references, memory, and emotions. Equally important to describing a place is the attempt to capture the essence of the experience in paint.
